Today, we join together as a school community to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, a time of reflection, faith, and hope.
We are especially grateful to Mrs. O'Neill's parents, who are in Lourdes today and have kindly lit candles for our school, our students, and our families. This thoughtful gesture reminds us of the power of prayer and the strength of our shared faith.
As we mark this special occasion, let us take a moment to reflect on Our Lady’s message of compassion, healing, and love. May her blessings be with us all. 💙🙏
Class 1 and Class 2 have been thinking about our Jubilee Year of Hope and our February theme: ‘Hope in Creation - Through Care in Creation.’ We spent the afternoon in the woodland area looking for signs of new life and God’s wonderful creation. Children sat quietly amongst the snowdrops and enjoyed creative art, looking carefully at the detail of the plants. Children collected and made crosses and others coloured in thoughtful prayers. We gathered and sang ‘All things Bright and Beautiful’ and prayed for Hope in our Creation.
This week in our RE lesson, Class 2 began their new topic, "Special Meals", by exploring the big question: What makes some meals special? 🥖🍷
The children had a fantastic time using different materials to create beautiful pictures of special meals, thinking about the significance of food, family, and faith in these moments. It was wonderful to see their creativity and thoughtful discussions about meals that hold a special place in their hearts.
This week, as part of Mental Health Week, Class 2 has been busy creating Positivity Fans—beautiful, colorful reminders filled with kind words and uplifting messages, 💖✨

As part of our Pilgrims of Hope work, class 4 have been in the woodland looking at Hope in Creation. They explored the signs of life and considered how this brings hope.
We will return at the end of the month to see how things have changed.
