Where we have young people of other faiths or no faith, we include and welcome them in all our activities.

Parent/Carers wishing to apply for a school place at the school should contact their ‘home’ local authority to seek advice on in-year school admissions and how to make an application. St Benedict’s participates in the local co-ordination of admissions applications

North Yorkshire School Admissions team co-ordinate in-year admission requests on behalf of the academy trust as the admission authority for the school. All applications should be made to the North Yorkshire School Admissions team

Where the school place applied for is to start immediately, Parent/Carers who apply for an in-year school place will receive notification of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of the date the application is received by North Yorkshire  School Admissions team.

We always encourage parents who are thinking about sending their child to St Benedict’s to come and see the school and meet the staff. Prospective parents can contact the school and arrange for an individual guided tour.

School Admission Appeal Timetable

  • The admission authority for the school must allow parents at least 20 days to appeal from when the decision letters are sent out.
  • The admission authority will submit a deadline for submitting your appeal.
  • If you submit anything after the deadline, it might not be considered and may result in delays to your hearing.
  • Appeals should be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for making an appeal.
  • An independent panel will hear appeals during June and July 2023.

Admissions Policies

Please click here to view our school admissions policies, located in the policies section of the website. The year of the admissions policy relates to the school year when the children would join the school. This is why more than one school admissions policy is typically visible in the policies section.
