St Benedict’s school has been educating children in the heart of Ampleforth for over 100 years. We moved to our current site in 1962. One of the strengths of the school is the fact that we are so rooted in our local community.

The school has four classes: Class 1( Nursery and Reception), Class 2 (Years 1 and 2), Class 3 (Years 3 and 4) and Class 4 (Years 5 and 6).

The school staff, ( teachers, teaching assistants, secretary and dinner staff) are very hardworking, nurturing and enthusiastic. All of the staff here work together to ensure every child thrives. Each and every adult regularly go the extra mile to help create happy, confident and enthusiastic learners.
The children are at the heart of all that we set out to achieve at St Benedict’s and the staff thoroughly enjoying working with them. The staff pride themselves on the pastoral care that they provide and enjoy developing the special bonds that exist between themselves and the children.

St Benedict’s has developed a broad, creative and inspirational curriculum. It is rooted in our unique position in the Vale of Ampleforth and also, as a Catholic school, looks outwards and adopts a global, outward looking approach to learning.

We are rightly proud of our school: the very positive relationships that exist between our staff and the whole of the school community, the history of the school in such a beautiful locality and the bright future that awaits all our pupils.
