Meet Our Class Turtle: Toby!
This year, we have a very special class member – our turtle, Toby! Toby loves going on adventures with you throughout the school year. Each child will have the chance to take Toby home and share his adventures with the class.
This is a fantastic opportunity to practise speaking and listening skills, as you tell stories about what you and Toby have been up to. We can’t wait to hear all of your exciting adventures
Welcome to Class 2’s homework and home learning information area.
We want to work in partnership with our parents. We know how rewarding this can be for our children.
Please see below information regarding the teaching of phonics and phonics screening for Year 1’s.
Weekly Tasks
Reading – To help us track how much reading your child is are doing at home, it is important that you sign their reading record every time you have listened to them read. Your child will bring home their new reading book every Friday, therefore it is important that your child has their reading book with them on a Friday so that it can be changed.
Try to read 10 minutes every day.
Spellings- It is extremely important and beneficial for children to practise both their spelling and reading. Spelling and reading both go hand in hand and supports the children’s fluency for reading and writing. Practising spelling should include a broad range of multisensory activities. Please use the activities on the link provided to support this.
