Science at St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School

We believe that Science is a crucial subject that enables children to explore and understand the world around them. Through Science, children learn about the natural world, how it works, and how we can interact with it in positive ways. We aim to inspire and engage children in Science, helping them to develop a curiosity about the world and a desire to investigate and explore.

We teach Science through a range of exciting and engaging activities, including experiments,  investigations, and practical work. Our Science curriculum is designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum, and we use a range of high-quality resources to support our teaching. We believe that children learn best through hands-on, practical experiences, so we encourage them to get actively involved in their learning, asking questions, and working collaboratively with their peers.

Science is a subject that can inspire children and ignite a passion for learning. We encourage children to explore, investigate, and question, helping them to develop a scientific mindset and a love of learning. Our aim is to provide children with the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to become confident and competent scientists, who can make a positive contribution to society.
